2. Application Fields:
Internationally, 90% of ethanol consumption is concentrated in the fuel sector, whereas in China, it is mainly used in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other industries, with fuel applications just beginning, accounting for about 20% of ethanol consumption.
Food Industry: Used to prepare various alcoholic beverages.
Chemical Industry: Ethanol is primarily used as a solvent and raw material for synthesis. Over 300 chemical products require ethanol as a raw or auxiliary material, such as acetaldehyde, ether, acetic acid, ethyl acetate, chloroacetic acid, acrylic acid, ethyl vinyl ether, ethanethiol, ethylamine, chloroethane, and chloroethanol.
Pharmaceutical Industry: Used as a disinfectant, preservative, pharmaceutical preparation agent, and raw material for synthetic pharmaceuticals.
Defense Industry: Ethanol is involved in the manufacture of explosives.
Fuel Industry: Used as an internal combustion engine fuel, partially or completely replacing gasoline in automotive engines. Ethanol used as internal combustion engine fuel is usually referred to as fuel ethanol, used in two ways: as an "oxygenate additive" to gasoline (anhydrous ethanol) or as a complete replacement for gasoline.

3. Usage Precautions:
Ethanol is flammable and irritating. Its vapors can form explosive mixtures with air, which can cause combustion or explosion when exposed to open flames or high heat. It reacts chemically or combusts when in contact with oxidizers. Containers exposed to heat in a fire hazard area may explode. Its vapors are heavier than air and can spread to distant locations at lower levels, igniting when encountering a fire source.
