I. Product Characteristics:
Isopropyl alcohol is a colorless, volatile liquid with an ethanol-like odor. It has a density of 0.7851, a melting point of -88°C, a boiling point of 82.5°C, an auto-ignition temperature of 425°C, and a flash point of 12°C. It is miscible with water and ethanol and can form an azeotrope with water. It is flammable, with vapors that can form explosive mixtures with air within the range of 2.0% to 12% by volume, categorizing it as a moderate explosion hazard.
II. Applications:
Isopropyl alcohol is an important derivative of propylene and an excellent solvent that is miscible with ethanol, ether, chloroform, and water. It is widely used as a solvent for shellac, nitrocellulose, alkaloids, rubber, fats, and more. IPA is also an intermediate in the production of various organic compounds and finds extensive use in pharmaceuticals, pesticides, coatings, daily chemicals, and organic synthesis.
III. Usage Precautions:
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, and halogens, avoiding mixed storage. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities.
